Game of Thrones fans are tweeting to topple this enormous Joffrey statue
POOR JACK GLEESON’s King Joffrey really can’t seem to catch a break on Twitter.
HBO previously hosted a Twitter roast of the reviled Game of Thrones character and now tweeters are banding together to smash him to pieces.
New Zealand broadcaster Sky TV erected a pretty large Joffrey statue in Auckland’s Aotea Square this week, and are now encouraging Twitter fans to bring him down from his plinth.
There’s a rope around the statue’s neck, attached to a winch which will topple it, inch by inch, every time someone tweets using the hashtag #bringdowntheking.
Needless to say, the Twitter response has been pretty enthusiastic thus far.

As time ticks by, they’re getting desperate.
Even people who haven’t seen the show are getting in on it.

The King is NOT amused.
Fans can monitor the statue’s progress via live web-cam on bringdowntheking.com where, as of 2.50pm this afternoon Irish time, he was definitely still standing.
